How to Access Paid Content
A brief guide to the Sunny Side Suppers newsletter and accessing supporting member content on Substack.
I recently conducted a survey of my readers and discovered that many folks had the same questions, particularly when it came to Substack. So, I decided to put together this brief post that will (hopefully) be helpful. Please feel free to email me if you have more questions that I havenât answered below. đ
What Is Substack?
Substack is a platform that allows writers to send newsletters to their audience and also offer a mix of free & paid content. This setup offers something unique - a space where writing and community come together without intrusive advertising.
Sunny Side Suppers publishes content in two places:
I use Substack as both my newsletter and a place to share exclusive content. Therefore, youâll find two kinds of content here:
New dinner ideas from my blog. On Tuesdays I share the latest free recipes from SunnySideSuppers.com. There is a link in those emails to the recipe on my site.
Exclusive members-only content. On Thursdays paid members get an email with exclusive content available only on Substack. (I also regularly post extra recipes that you can see when you login to Substack.)
In addition, you can see my Notes on Substack. âNotesâ are sort of like Substackâs social media feed. Itâs where I post sneak peeks of upcoming recipes and sometimes share real-life updates.
Ready to Become a Supporting Member?
Want to become a supporting member? Awesome! A paid membership helps me continue creating and sharing high-quality content for you. â¤ď¸
Hereâs how to sign up for paid membership.
1. Use the button below to view your membership options.
2. Select monthly ($5/month) or annual membership ($4.17/month). Thatâs less than 17 cents per day.
3. If you are on an Apple device, you can use Apple Pay. If you are on another device, Substack will give you a secure option to enter your credit card.
How to Access Supporting Member Content
Now that youâre a supporting member, youâre in! Youâll be able to access paid content in two ways:
Login to your Substack account. This will allow you to view and print all of the paid recipes Iâve published.
Substack lets you sign in by entering your email address and then clicking on the login link they send to you. Or, you can setup a username and password.
Keep an eye on your email. I also send out an email every Thursday with new content for supporting members.
How to Cancel or Pause Your Subscription
If you need to pause or cancel your subscription:
Navigate to your account Settings page.
Scroll to the accounts section. This is where youâll see all the publications youâre subscribed to. This article has helpful step-by-step photos.
From there you can choose to pause or cancel your subscription.
If you have trouble, get in touch and I can also help you cancel your subscription.
I ask that you please donât request a refund if you have been reading and printing paid recipes. Thatâs a bit like going into a donut shop, licking all the donuts, then telling the shop keeper you donât want one.
